This course provides an overview of design and construction of storm shelters. Topics include life safety concerns with tornados, considerations when desigining and detailing storm shelters, code requirements for storm shelters, and examples of successful shelters using concrete masonry. In addition to the learning module, this free course also inlcudes complimentary access to the publications Concrete Masonry Storm Shelters Design Guide and Concrete Masonry Storm Shelters Case Study and Commentary.
